The Gaming Employees Home (GEH) is promoting a micro movie that aims to promote responsible gambling among casino workers.
There will be five mini stories in the movie that will carry messages, such as financial management and vocational values, in order to lower the chance of gaming employees becoming addicted to gambling.
The storyline will revolve around issues such as the gambling myths, working pressure, and crimes that are provoked by gambling.
GEH supervisor Casey Wong Im Fong claimed that the public does not have a very good knowledge of the gambling industry. She pointed out that a third of the people registered to the Social Welfare Bureau problem gamblers central registration system are casino workers, many of them croupiers.
The supervisor said that the production team has invited some casino workers to take part in the production, so that they can inject their experience into the movie. Some of the workers are even willing to take leave in order to participate in the production.
Ms Wong hopes that, through watching the movie, gaming employees will know more about the topic and the symptoms of gambling addiction.
The movie director Keo Lou revealed that he is not going to film the movie in a realistic style. Rather, he seeks to create an unrealistic environment through lighting in order to better depict the psychological journey of the characters.
The filming will start next week and will take two weeks, with a budget of approximately MOP100,000. It will be on the big screen at the end of the year.
Wong Im Fong said that the micro movie will become an educational resource after screening.
