Over 62,000 health inspections conducted in first quarter

Between January and March, health inspectors conducted over 62,400 inspections across establishments, averaging 693 inspections per day. The majority of cases were related to smoking, with 1,262 incidents of illegal smoking, nearly 200 of which occurred in casinos, making up 15% of the total. Restaurants followed with 186 cases, and bus stops had 139. Casinos underwent 212 inspections in the first quarter. Additionally, six cases were suspected of violating the Alcohol Control Law for minors, half involving alcohol sales, the rest related to missing signage.
