2-IACMLocated in the city’s historical center, the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) headquarters are found in one of the most emblematic buildings of Macau – the ex-Loyal Senate – which is a reference for both the Macau residents and tourists. The bureau decided to launch a “virtual guide” to the IACM headquarters building.
According to a press release issued by IACM, the system is accessible via smart phone or other mobile devices and allows “virtual visitors” to learn more about the history of the building as well as take part in a tour of the building.
The decision of IACM acknowledges that the use of mobile devices is a current trend that will allow visitors to explore and learn in more detail about the different parts of the building as well as its historical value and importance.
The application divides the building into four areas: entrance, courtyard, garden and lounge. In each of those it is possible to find the layout of the area as well as lists of items of interest, images and recordings that allow visitors to enjoy a more personalized guided tour.
The system is available in four languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese and English. The app will be accessible through a QR code.
