Tropical depression brings wind, rain as typhoon season peaks

The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said Macau has entered the peak of tropical cyclone season, with new systems expected in the South China Sea and Northwest Pacific this month. A tropical depression triggered the city’s sixth cyclone signal of the year on Sunday, briefly raising the No. 3 signal. Winds reached force 6 with gusts at force 7 across bridges and open areas. The SMG warned of unstable weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms through today, before conditions improve midweek.
