The Zhuhai Fire Services reported that two residents of Macau became lost while hiking on Mount Naobei in Hengqin last Sunday. A drone and ground search-and-rescue team were deployed and successfully located them after more than an hour. The operation involved a multifunctional emergency rescue vehicle and a six-person team, along with a thermal imaging drone used to scan the mountainous terrain. In their statement, authorities warned hikers that Mount Naobei has areas with weak mobile phone signals. Nighttime temperatures can drop significantly, increasing the risk of hypothermia from prolonged exposure.
