CAMBODIA Police yesterday arrested more than 200 Chinese citizens accused of defrauding people in China over the internet.

JAPAN Police said yesterday they found six bodies believed to be members of a family in a farmhouse in a remote mountain village, and the body of a seventh person who jumped or fell from a nearby bridge.

INDIA As Mumbai marked the 10th anniversary of attacks that killed 166 in India’s financial capital yesterday, the United States made a new reward offer for information on the 2008 siege. 

IRAN Authorities said yesterday that the number of injured in the magnitude 6.3 earthquake in western Iran the previous night has risen to 716. No fatalities were reported from the temblor.

TURKEY Four Turkish soldiers died while another was fighting for life after their helicopter crashed yesterday into a residential area of Istanbul. Even though the helicopter struck a four-storey building before crashing, there were no civilian casualties, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency. 

ISRAEL-PALESTINE The Israeli military says a Palestinian assailant rammed his car into a group of soldiers in the West Bank and was then shot and killed.

UKRAINE Three former Ukrainian presidents have joined forces to oppose the motion to impose martial law in the country in the wake of Russia’s seizure of three Ukrainian ships and their crews. Current President Petro Poroshenko has reportedly reduced the martial law proposal to 30 days from 60.

FRANCE President Emmanuel Macron’s government vowed yesterday an “uncompromising” stance toward troublemakers who use protests over rising fuel taxes to damage businesses and clash with police — including in the heart of Paris, on the glittering Champs-Elysees.

MEXICO looked set to shore up security near its border with the United States yesterday, and local authorities said that 39 migrants were arrested after a peaceful march devolved into mayhem when U.S. agents fired tear gas into Mexico to stop some migrants who tried to breach the international line.
