2025 Greater Bay Area 3×3 Basketball set for Macau this October

The 2025 Greater Bay Area 3×3 Basketball Tournament, a men’s basketball competition spanning five cities, will culminate with its finals in Macau from October 23 to 26.
The tournament runs from August through October across Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hengqin, Macau, and Huizhou.
According to the event’s website, each city will host weekly rounds allowing up to 32 men’s teams to compete. The top three finishers from each city’s tournament will advance directly to the Grand Finals in Macau.
Speaking at an event’s press conference yesterday, Macau Star Entertainment’s CEO Lou Kit Long expressed enthusiasm to local media about hosting the event and expanding its profile.
“We are actively inviting well-known stars, including internationally renowned athletes,” said Lou. “We also hope to attract Olympic medalists and prominent domestic players to support our events.”
Highlighting the tournament’s growing reputation, Sports Bureau director Luís Gomes noted that previous editions held at Macau landmarks were well received by both residents and tourists. He also revealed that organizers are working to include the 3×3 basketball event in the upcoming National Games.
Registration for the tournament is now open on a first-come, first-served basis via the official website. The entry fee is RMB500, and teams must have at least one player holding a valid Greater Bay Area identification document to be eligible. The Grand Finals are scheduled to take place at the Ruins of St. Paul’s and the outdoor lawn at the south gate of Wynn Palace in Cotai.
The event is organized by the Sports Bureau and Macau Star Entertainment Production Co., Ltd., with Wynn Resorts (Macau) Co., Ltd. serving as a key sponsor. NS
