Korean pitchers penalized for illegal gambling

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) punished two pitchers on Friday for gambling illegally in Macau. Lim Chang-yong and Oh Seung-hwan were recently ordered to pay a fine of 7 million won (MOP46,404) after prosecutors decided their actions constituted a summary offense. The former Samsung Lions players are currently free agents. They will be banned for half their team’s games if they return to the KBO league, according to the governing body of Korea’s top baseball league.

Major gas leak in Taipa supermarket

Three people were hospitalized and 80 evacuated from a supermarket in Taipa after a major gas leak that forced authorities to clear the area near Avenida Olimpica. According to TDM, authorities found that Sunday’s evacuation was caused by leaking hydrogen sulfide gas. Four supermarket workers had shown signs of exposure to the hazardous substance when the fire services arrived at the scene around 2 p.m.
