9 injured in Border Gate escalator

Nine people were injured in an escalator accident at the Border Gate checkpoint yesterday evening. A departure hall escalator is said to have suddenly stopped due to a malfunction at around 6:00p.m., TDM News reported. Nine women were injured, including a 67-year-old senior citizen. They all suffered abrasions and were sent to the hospital for treatment. The Public Security Police Force (CPSP) told Radio Macau that authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident. In May, there was another incident on the escalators. It was reported that they also stopped suddenly, causing several people to fall to the ground.
