The African Development Bank (ADB) has paid out USD7 million for employment promotion in Mozambique, the Mozambican Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity said Tuesday in a statement.
To use the fund, technical staff from the ADB and the Ministry are working to identify the areas that will benefit from the aid, with a view to selecting schemes for job creation and entrepreneurship initiatives, the press release said.
The Mozambican government’s five-year program includes plans to create 1.5 million jobs as part of efforts to reduce unemployment, which affects a majority of the active population in the country. MDT/Macauhub
