AgiBot to deploy over 300 robots at Chimelong Park

Shanghai-based artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics company AgiBot is deploying more than 300 robots to operate at Chimelong Theme Park on Hengqin Island.

The deployment is scheduled for Sept. 24 (Thursday), with AgiBot saying the robots will be placed across the park to operate in real guest-facing scenarios.

According to a company representative, this is “more than a tech launch”; the move represents “a look at robots in a real tourism environment,” as well as a “groundbreaking future experience in travel and entertainment.”

The robots’ deployment follows an agreement signed on August 23 between AgiBot and Chimelong Group at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Hengqin.

At the time, the parties said the cooperation agreement focused on deeply integrating “culture and tourism + technology” and aimed to jointly develop a large-scale embodied intelligence theme park.

The project was said to feature a range of innovative attractions, including an immersive robot theme park, a large-scale robotic animal experience, a major robot circus show, a cyber-themed parade and robot-enabled hotel services, exploring the scaled application of embodied intelligence across the culture and tourism sector.

On the matter, Deng Taihua, founder, chairman and CEO of AgiBot, said, “Robots are entering a new phase of real-world deployment. Through our partnership with Chimelong, we look forward to exploring new applications of embodied intelligence and creating more engaging experiences for people.”
