MGTO makes French travel market debut as European promotion continues

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has strengthened its promotional efforts in Europe by participating for the first time in the International & French Travel Market Top Resa 2026 (IFTM Top Resa), held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from September 15-17.
Participating in the event at the invitation of China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, MGTO joined mainland provinces and municipalities at the “Nihao! China” national pavilion.
According to MGTO, the debut at one of France and Europe’s most influential travel trade fairs provided an important platform to showcase Macau’s East-meets-West character and diverse “tourism+” experiences to French and European tourism professionals.
In a press statement, MGTO also highlighted the city’s UNESCO World Heritage attractions, gastronomic culture and status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
A dedicated destination presentation introduced the city’s latest tourism offerings, complemented by signature delicacies and Intangible Cultural Heritage performances.
The program also facilitated networking, business matching and discussions with French and European travel operators.
Under the theme “Modern China: Cities and the Future,” the “Nihao! China” pavilion showcased Macau’s tourism resources and several mainland destinations.
MGTO used the platform to pursue joint marketing opportunities and promote multi-destination travel products combining Macau with other parts of China.
The Office also briefed international travel professionals on measures designed to facilitate visits, including China’s visa-free policy for French citizens and the 240-hour visa-free transit policy.
MGTO’s first appearance at IFTM Top Resa is part of its ongoing drive to expand long-haul visitor markets and reinforce the city’s position as a world center of tourism and leisure.
Throughout 2026, MGTO has maintained a presence in Europe, participating in major travel fairs including FITUR in Spain, the Lisbon Travel Market in Portugal and ITB Berlin in Germany.
It also staged a destination presentation in London in March and is scheduled to participate in London’s World Travel Market this November to raise Macau’s profile through international trade fairs, industry partnerships and immersive cultural promotions.
