‘Art of Prosperity’ exhibition opens with 250 artworks

An exhibition showcasing 250 artworks from local artists has opened at Sands Macao.

The “Art of Prosperity” exhibition showcases the works from 230 local artists and another 20 artists from Hong Kong.

The diverse art forms include Chinese painting, oil painting, calligraphy, and sculpture. Notable participating artists include Lai Ieng, Lok Hei, and Ng Wai Kin, among others.

The exhibition is one of the gaming operator’s events to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to China.

Lok Hei, head of the exhibition’s preparatory committee, said, “Macau’s artists have established themselves in the local art scene with their remarkable achievements. Through this exhibition, we would like to share in the joy of this year of dual celebrations with their exquisite works.”

Meanwhile, Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said that the exhibition weaves a “vibrant historical tapestry as it features masterpieces in a myriad of artistic languages, expressions and styles.”

Co-organized by Sands China Ltd. and the Macau Foundation, the “Art of Prosperity: An Invitational Exhibition of Macau Artists” is being presented by the Macau Artist Society and the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association. This exhibition will take place from Nov. 15 to 28 at the Sands Macao. LV
