Back-to-back wins for fire bureau at Macao Dragon Boat Races

The Fire Services Bureau (CB) clinched victory once again in the Small Dragon Boat Race – Open category (200m), crossing the finish line in 48.856 seconds at the 2025 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races, held May 24–25 at Nam Van Lake.
The CB also claimed the top spot in the Macao Government Departments Small Dragon Boat Race with a time of 51.034 seconds.
The Association of Macao Youth Development (Category A) secured another win in the Women’s category – winning for the seventh consecutive year with a finishing time of 58.605 seconds. Wynn Elegance and SJM Golden Lotus (Category A) took second and third places, respectively.
In the Macau Universities Small Dragon Boat Race, University of Macau (Category A) finished first with 51.372 seconds, coming ahead of Macao Polytechnic University (Category A) and University of Macau (Category B).
The races continued yesterday with the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race in Open, Women’s, and Mixed categories (500m).
The fire bureau also finished first in the Open category (500m) with a time of 1 minute 55.9 seconds, followed by Dong Rong Dragonboat Team (1:58) and SJM Golden Jubilee (1:58.2).
In the Mixed category (500m), SJM Golden Jubilee secured first place with a time of 2:02.9, followed by Tong Lei Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd and Sands China, in third.
Tong Lei Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd won the 500m Women’s category, finishing with a time of 2:14.8, followed by SJM Golden Lotus (2:16.8) and Wynn (2:24.3), respectively.
Prizes were presented by Luís Gomes, president of the Sports Bureau; Angela Leong, director of SJM Resorts; and Rui Cunha, secretary-general of SJM Resorts.
Beyond the races, the event showcased live music, dance performances, and a variety of cultural activities.
