Brawl between two male inmates

The Macau Prison has launched an inquiry into a fight between two inmates that sent one of them to hospital. The squabble that broke out on the first floor of the men’s number five cell block on Tuesday at around 8.20 p.m., was said to have been the result of an argument over hygiene in the pair’s shared cell. It escalated into a scuffle, which was subdued by the on-duty officers. According to the authorities, one prisoner, with a history of mental illness, suffered minor injuries to his head. He was returned to his cell after a check-up at the public hospital. The authorities also arranged social workers to provide counseling services to both inmates involved in the scuffle.
