The Public Security Police Force and the Labour Affairs Bureau apprehended 79 people in January on suspicion of working illegally in Macau. The suspected illegal workers were found during joint inspections at 402 locations, including construction sites, private buildings, and commercial and industrial establishments. The number represents a return to the results seen in November last year (76) after a significant month-on-month drop in December, when only 55 suspects were found. In total, authorities last year identified approximately 867 people suspected of working illegally in Macau, an average of 72 per month.
