Briefs | Chui Sai On tours Inner Harbor district

Chief Executive (CE) Chui Sai On yesterday visited one of the most badly affected areas of the city during the passage of Typhoon Hato, the Office of the CE said in a statement. Chui was accompanied by the Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Raimundo do Rosário, the director of the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSPOT), Li Canfeng, and the Executive Council spokesman, Leong Heng Teng. The CE visited several streets and observed the restoration process, while taking the opportunity to talk to several residents and shop owners about their lives and businesses in the aftermath of the typhoon. The CE promised residents that an adequate solution for the flooding problems would be found to ensure the safety of residents. Other visits to different areas of the region are also expected to take place in the upcoming days to follow up on the recovery progress.

Faster bus line to ease morning transportation peak

The Transport Bureau (DSAT) has launched two express bus routes to better meet the transportation needs of residents living in the northern districts and Seac Pai Van. According to a statement by DSAT, the one-way route bus line 3AX will operate from Monday to Friday, and will run between the border gate plaza and Praça de Ferreira Amaral.  The service will be carried out in the morning between 7 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Circular bus line 25AX will operate between 6 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. from Monday to Friday between the border gate and Seac Pac Van.

Over 1,000 local companies in Hengqin

Until the end of August, more than 1,000 Macau enterprises were registered in Hengqin, according to a report by Jornal Va Kio. This represents a fivefold increase compared to when the Hengqin free trade zone was first established. These companies are operating projects involving commercial services, leisure and tourism, cultural and recreational fields. The local government has already recommended 83 Macau projects to enter an industrial park jointly established by Macau and Guangdong. Of these, 20 have reached agreements and 18 have obtained real estate in the park.
