CC begins ‘certified shops’ assessment

The Consumer Council (CC) is carrying out inspections of its “certified shops.” The CC kicked off its 2016 assessment with on-site evaluations this month, and will assess almost 1,500 shops according to over 30 grading criteria. The “certified shop” system was launched in 2001. The evaluations are conducted throughout the year with final results announced at the end of the year.
Forbidden City stamps issued
Macau Post organized an issuing ceremony for the new “Scenery of the Imperial Palace in Beijing” stamps. The designer, Spanish-French artist Charles Chauderlot attended an autograph session at the Museum of Art after the ceremony. The stamps feature 81 artworks by Chauderlot, who is also behind the paintings in the “Ink Wash of the Forbidden City” exhibition, currently on display at the same museum. Altogether, stamps featuring seven different images of the palaces were presented to the public. Charles Chauderlot was the first foreigner to be permitted by the Palace Museum in Beijing to enter the restricted area of the Forbidden City.
