CCM held dance performances for children

The Macau Cultural Center (CCM) held two performances for young children titled “Echoes of Our Childhood” and “The Little Match Girl” over the weekend. “Echoes of Our Childhood” merged dance, sound effects and art installations, introducing children to nostalgic items such as retro toys and cassette recorders from their parents’ yesteryears. “The Little Match Girl” musical immersed the audience in a young girl’s hopes and dreams, depicting Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story through movement, singing and original music performed live on stage. Both performances are part of CCM’s “ARTmusing Summer” series which began in late June.  

BNU closes first half-year with USD40 million profit

Banco Nacional Ultramarino de Macau (BNU) closed its first half-year with a profit of MOP320.9 million (USD40 million), as indicated in the balance sheet published in the Official Gazette. The profit achieved in the first six months of 2017 was 15.2 percent more than in the same period last year. The published accounts indicate that BNU recorded an income of MOP879.5 million and expenses of MOP558.7 million. In 2016, BNU recorded a profit of MOP540.5 million, up 9.8 percent over 2015. BNU Macau is a subsidiary of Portuguese state-owned group Caixa Geral de Depósitos, which is based in Macau and is BNU Macau’s only shareholder.
