City of Dreams Manila will open its doors to the public this Sunday, confirming previous media reports. The casino-resort will become the second to open in government-
sponsored Entertainment City in Parañaque City.
The Manila Standard mentioned yesterday that a disclosure made by Melco to the stock exchange tells of the notice it received to commence casino operations from state-owned Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. “City of Dreams Manila will commence operations on December 14, 2014, with a grand opening of the integrated resort planned before Chinese New Year in 2015,” Melco Crown said.
Once completed, the USD1.3-billion integrated casino and resort facility of Melco Crown Philippines Corp will feature six hotel towers and three distinct entertainment venues, including a night club situated at the Fortune Egg, a dome-like structure that will be the centerpiece of the entire complex.
City of Dreams Manila vice president Charisse Chuidian stated in an e-mail that some components of the casino project would be opened during the soft opening: “The hotel restaurants will be available at the preview, the mass gaming area and some food outlets adjacent to it, some retail shops, and one of the nightclubs.”
