6I0A1167A seminar on “Tourism, Conventions and Exhibitions between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries” prompted debate on the different possibilities for cooperation and expansion of the MICE and and tourism-related businesses between Macau and the Lusophone countries.
The event took place last Friday at the MGM resort. It was organized by the Permanent Secretariat to the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau) with the collaboration of the Institute for Promotion of Trade and Investment of Macau and the Macau Government Tourist Office.
The new tourist industries and conventions and exhibitions were discussion points, as was the business sector’s ability to play a key role in the diversification of the economy for all parties. As for Macau, in line with its positioning of itself as a service platform, it was resolved during the seminar to continue to work on the facilitation, creation and development of a Convention and Exhibition Center for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries.
