b1-Mandarin-Oriental-Happiness-and-Fruitfulness-HamperThe Mandarin Oriental Hotel has announced a series of packages and celebrations to hail the Chinese New Year next month, including luxury breakfast buffets, themed afternoon teas, and other dining experiences.
Guests will have an array of dining options for the festive period – ranging from a dim sum lunch to an eight-course traditional Chinese set dinner. The menus will be available from February 1 through 22.
The hotel also says that it will host a traditional Chinese lion dance procession from 10:30 a.m. on February 8, to be accompanied by the roar of firecrackers and the distribution of “Lai See” envelopes.
Additionally, from January 11 to February 7, the Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop will offer two hampers, which are being festively-titled the “Luck and Happiness Hamper” and the “Happiness and Fruitfulness Hamper,” priced at MOP3,388 and MOP4,388, respectively.

To usher in the Year of the Monkey, the Conrad Macao in Cotai Central is presenting a range of Chinese New Year offerings on various dates throughout January and February, including an all-you-can-eat buffet and an afternoon high tea.
The hotel’s signature restaurants – Dynasty 8, Grand Orbit, and The Lounge – will offer guests a traditional set menu, an elaborate buffet, and an afternoon tea experience, respectively.
In addition, Dynasty 8 has announced a promotion for four-person “Poon Choi” hampers, which each include prawns, abalone, dried oysters, fish maw rolls and roast duck.
“In ushering in the Year of the Monkey, we are pleased to offer our guests a wide choice of Chinese New Year dining inspirations,” said Bede Barry, vice president of hotel operations.
“It’s a time to enjoy the celebrations with family and friends, and we remain mindful of the diverse needs and tastes of our discerning clientele,” Barry added.
