Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited has received recognition from the Macau SAR government for the company’s support toward breastfeeding and lactation room facilities available throughout all its major properties, according to a statement from the gaming operator.

The new rooms can be found at City of Dreams, Studio City, Altira Macau and at the company’s Flower City office.

At an event aimed to raise awareness and celebrate World Breastfeeding Week 2018, the Health Bureau presented Melco with this special recognition.

“Melco values employees as our most important asset, being the first gaming operator in Macau to set up lactation rooms across all four of its major properties,” said Lawrence Ho, chairman and chief executive officer of Melco. “The acknowledgement from the Health Bureau […] is a testament to our women and family-friendly policies. […] We believe the availability of lactation rooms will assist and support mothers returning to work after childbirth.”

Macao water joins hands with MSO to promote inclusive society

The ‘Show Potential, Swim Together – 2018 Swimming Competition’, organized by the Macao Water Supply Company Limited (Macao Water) and the Macau Special Olympics (MSO), was held at the Macao Federation of Trade Unions Workers Stadium near the Border Gate on Saturday, July 28.

The competition, divided into regular and inclusive categories, attracted around 100 participants including athletes aged between 4 and 45.

In the regular category, MSO athletes participated as individuals or in teams and competed in a variety of aquatic sports including the 25m and 50m freestyle, 25m kick-board race, and water-walking.

In the inclusive category, invited guests and MSO athletes teamed up for the swimming relay and a ball-throwing game.

Since 2005, Macao Water has been working with the MSO to support MSO athletes’ recreation and sports training.

The event was sponsored by the Sports Bureau and the Macau Coca-Cola Beverage Co., Ltd., and warmly supported by several local special education institutions.
