MGM China and the Macau Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (MACA) have reached an agreement on music public performance licenses, which aims to protect the copyright of all songwriters whose works are played at MGM properties. The agreement marks an important step towards safeguarding the interests of local and international musicians performing in Macau, and ensures that creative efforts are properly remunerated. The agreement will extend to all areas and outlets of MGM China’s second property, MGM COTAI, when it opens next year.
hainan airlines launch macau–haikou route
Hainan Airlines opened its Macau–Haikou route on September 29, and is now providing three flights weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
An inaugural flight ceremony was hosted at the Macau International Airport (MIA) on the day of the first flight. The ceremony was attended by guests from Hainan, including Mr Wang Sheng, the Head of Hainan government delegation, and Mr Han Dian, the President of Macau Hainan Natives Association. The flight service leaves Macau at approximately 6:10 p.m. and arrives in Haikou at 8:20 p.m. local time. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
l’arc macau promotes recycling campaign
The L’Arc Macau volunteering team launched a clothing recycling campaign in September to promote a message to their staff and the wider community on the importance of reusing resources. The casino-resort’s staff and volunteer team jointly collected more than 600 clothing items and delivered them to the Salvation Army of Macau on September 29. Some of the clothes will be sold in the Salvation Army shop to raise funds for future activities, whereas the remainder will be donated to people in need within Macau, Hong Kong, and the mainland China region.
