Sands China retains place on Dow Jones ESG indices

Sands China has been included in the latest Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJBIC) World and Asia Pacific indices, extending its recognition for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

The company said it was named to the World Index for the fifth consecutive year and the Asia Pacific Index for the sixth straight year. It added that it remains the only integrated resort operator included in both indices.

According to Sands China, 16 integrated resort operators worldwide participated in this year’s assessment, with only Sands China and parent company Las Vegas Sands selected for the World Index.

The company attributed the recognition to its ESG strategy centered on its “People, Community, and Planet” pillars. It highlighted employee training, community volunteer initiatives, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and environmental measures, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and expanded sustainability programs.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices, compiled annually by S&P Global, assess companies worldwide on environmental, social, and governance performance.
