Organized by the Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau and sponsored by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and MGM, the fourth ‘Macau Outstanding Teenagers Award’ presentation ceremony was held on Saturday at MGM MACAU’s Grand Ballroom, where a total of 15 teenagers were presented with awards.
As cited in MGM’s press release, new categories were added to the latest ‘Outstanding Teenagers Award’ to support local creative industries and encourage young people to pursue their dreams.
Secretary Alexis Tam chaired a judging panel of 30 social and community elites across various fields to decide on the 2016 award winners. After a series of initial and final selections a total of ten outstanding teenagers and five outstanding performance award winners were selected based on three key aspects: “Personal Achievements,” “Personal Endeavors” and “Involvement in the Community.”

Stomp commences show at the venetian

stomp-09

Stomp’s high-energy performers entertained a large audience at The Venetian Theatre for almost two hours on their Macau opening night show on Friday.
Stomp, the innovative dance, street theatre and music performance company, which has been touring the world since 1992, creates music through smashing, crashing and bashing an unlikely assortment of everyday objects including matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans and Zippo lighters.
The revamped show with new music, choreography and ‘instruments’ including massive recycled inner tubes which performers wear and play simultaneously, is more riveting than ever, said Sands China in a press release.
STOMP, which will perform in the city until October 9, has brought over 20,000 performances to more than 12 million people in 53 countries across six continents.
