Sands Resorts Macao welcomed the Year of the Rooster in an opening ceremony on Friday to usher in the New Year and launch the all new seasonal 3D Light and Sound Spectacular, ‘Seasons of Prosperity’ for Chinese New Year.

The light show will run every 30 minutes between 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., from now until February 14.

The 3D Light and Sound Spectacular, “Seasons of Prosperity,” beams Chinese New Year images on the façade of The Venetian Macao, and is the resort hotel’s annual celebration to welcome Chinese New Year in style for all the family.

Meanwhile, The Parisian Macao’s Eiffel Tower will also feature a Chinese New Year Grand Illumination Show, which will take place every 15 minutes between 6:15 p.m. to midnight from now until February 14.

According to the gaming operator’s press release, the show features Chinese New Year red- gold and pink-white themes and a “starshine” motif using over 6,600 RGB color mixing pixels.

CEM held the “Macau Energy Saving Contest 2016” award ceremony at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre yesterday.

The competition ran from May to October last year with two categories: the Public Building Facilities Group and the Hotel Group.

A total of 44 hotels and 484 buildings participated in the contest.

The number of participants hit a new high in 2016 and saved up to 38 million kWh of electricity, according to a statement issued by the electrical company.

The Hotel Group was divided into A, B and C Group, saving a total of 18 million kWh of electricity during the contest.

Macao Water co-hosts 2017 annual dinner

The Macao Water Supply Company Limited and the Sino French Water Development Co. Ltd. co-hosted their “2017 Annual Dinner” last week at the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel Macau.

The 40-table banquet was attended by more than 400 guests representing the government, business and industry sectors, public utilities and community associations, as well as the staff members of Macao Water and Sino French Water.

Macao Water said in a press release that it has received numerous international recognitions. Special mention was made of its Geographical Information System (GIS) being awarded by the Environmental Systems Research Institute.

Last year, the water company’s “Enterprise Asset Management System” was awarded 2nd Runner-Up of the Innovation Awards for Franco-Chinese Teams by the Commité France Chine.

The company said it would strive to commence the Coloane Seac Pai Van Water Treatment Plant project by mid-2017.
