The total value of business deals between MGM and some 145 local Small and Medium Businesses (SMEs) has exceeded MOP55 million, according to a statement from the gaming operator.
MGM held its fourth quarterly SME Business Matching event with the Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association on Friday, welcoming nearly 80 local vendors from the Information Technology and Retail industries.
Four leading Macau banks also took part in the event, to provide financial services for the on-site vendors, according to the statement.
“Many young people are now working in the IT industry, and it is an industry we need to nurture by giving [SMEs] opportunities to grow and prosper,” sad Chui Yuk Lum, vice-president of the board of directors at the Macau Chamber of Commerce, who was in attendance on Friday. “On the other hand, retail is one of Macau’s pillar industries; it is a great beginning for large corporations to make room for retailers to promote their products and services to its employees,” he said.
