The “CreatorWeek Macao 2025” event is set to take place from October 24 to 28 across multiple locations in Macau.
The festival will bring together around 250 participants, including 180 content creators, 50 guest speakers, and 20 performing groups from both international regions and Greater China.
Jointly organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the international media production company Branded, the event’s details were unveiled at a launch yesterday at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre.
MGTO director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes highlighted that the initiative aims to infuse fresh creative energy into Macau’s development as a global hub for tourism and leisure.
A key strategic goal is to elevate the international visibility of local content and creators.
To support this, the organizers launched the “CreatorWeek Macao 2025 Ambassador Recruitment Program,” which selected 20 local ambassadors.
Organizers explained yesterday that these ambassadors will collaborate with 20 international content creators to co-produce content, offering authentic local insights into Macau’s culture and cityscape.
Fernandes emphasized that the ambassadors are crucial for facilitating an authentic experience.
“If local creators can show them around, sharing snippets of their daily lives from their own perspective, we believe that’s a vital component,” she said, adding that the event will also include other community visits and activities beyond the ambassador program.
The five-day event is structured around six major themed activities designed to foster professional exchange and public engagement.
The CreatorWeek Conference will focus on social media trends and the creator economy, featuring speakers from platforms such as YouTube and Snapchat.
The CreatorWeek Live Stage will feature performances by 20 international and local musicians and bands over two days.
For public interaction, the CreatorWeek Meet & Greet will host 40 top creators, including dancer Merrick Hanna and actor Ian Boggs, for photos and fan interactions.
Meanwhile, the CreatorWeek Wellness Workshop will offer sessions in yoga, dance, fitness, and meditation led by influencers.
For industry development, the Creator Academy will provide practical sessions for 100 to 200 mid-tier creators on content creation and brand collaborations.
The event will also host an opening and closing party for networking among creators and industry leaders.
CEO and co-founder of Branded, Jasper Donat, introduced the event’s planning concept, highlighting its role in cross-cultural learning. “You can’t succeed in Asia-Pacific by assuming one approach fits all. This event is about bringing people together to learn,” he said during a media Q&A.
He stressed that collaboration is the key to turning the “co-creation system” into real opportunities. “If I, as a non-Chinese speaker, want to reach a Chinese audience, or if Chinese artists want to reach my audience, collaboration is the answer. 1+1 can equal way more than 2,” Donat stated.
He also noted the event’s impact on the next generation, aiming to engage not just established creators but also those just starting out.
Following its first edition in Singapore in 2024, CreatorWeek is sponsored in Macau by the six integrated resort enterprises with support from 25 local, Greater China, and international entities. Ricaela Diputado
