CRIME | Man arrested for indecent exposure

The Public Security Police Force arrested a local man for allegedly publicly exposing himself over 100 times to female passersby, during their regular anti-crime operations on Sunday.
The 42-year-old insurance agent was also said to have a fetish for female buttocks as the police authorities found more than 40 video clips on the suspect’s cellphone capturing women’s lower parts. On top of that, the three memory cards discovered in his apartment contained a total of 1,600 pictures and 310 videos also featuring that body part.
Two days ago, the suspect was seen on the prowl staring at female pedestrians in the streets near the Three Lamps Districts by police agents, who subsequently stopped him. His identity was later confirmed by one of his victims, who had earlier reported him to the authorities.
The man confessed that he began to make the videos in 2010 and started showing his genitals in public one year later. The police believed that there were still many other victims yet to come forward.
In a separate case, three local pawn stores have lost a total of MOP1.16 million to an illegal immigrant from the mainland, where the suspect fraudulently exchanged bogus tiny diamonds for cash.
The 36-year-old man, already arrested by the Judiciary Police (PJ), was said to have entered the region illegally in April. During the past three months, he carried out the crimes either on his own or with his other accomplices. Receiving reports by the duped victims earlier, the PJ authorities pinpointed the suspect after investigation.
They finally took action against the mainlander while he was reported to be gambling in a casino in the NAPE district. Around 200 grams of phony diamonds were discovered inside the suspect’s home, also in that area. It was estimated that the counterfeits had a street value amounting to over MOP1.4 million if sold as genuine. Staff reporter
