Customs seize smuggled goods in week-long operation

Macau Customs intercepted eight smuggling cases within one week, seizing about 5.2kg of suspected silver grains, 2.5 litres of liquor, 774g of cigars, 250 sportswear items, 48 firecrackers, and two unquarantined orange trees. The operation was conducted from February 13 to 19 at Hengqin Port, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Macau Port, and the Border Gate. Three suspects aged 30 to 64 were prosecuted under foreign trade laws, while one case involving quarantine violations was referred to the Municipal Affairs Bureau.
