Football | Jeonbuk beats Luneng to advance in Asian Champions League

Korean club Jeonbuk Motors advanced to the knockout stage of the Asian Champions League yesterday with a 4-1 win over Shandong Luneng.
Lee Jae-sung was on target in the first half and Kim Hyung-il, Eninho and Edu scored after the break as Jeonbuk improved to 11 points and joined Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol in the last 16 from Group H.
Kim scored the winning goal five minutes into the second half at Jeonju World Cup Stadium with a header from a free kick by Eninho.
Eninho made it 3-1 when he scored from the penalty spot after Dai Lin pulled Edu down in the area 10 minutes from time and Edu sealed the win eight minutes later.
Kashiwa finished first in Group E ahead of Jeonbuk despite losing 1-0 at Binh Duong.
In Japan, Gamba Osaka advanced with a 2-1 win over Seongnam FC. Takashi Usami and Lins scored for the hosts, who improved to 10 points in Group F.
Buriram United trounced Chinese club Guangzhou R&F 5-0 in the other group game and also improved to 10 points but Gamba advanced based on its head-to-head advantage with the Thai club. Seongnam had previously advanced. AP
