Free community stage launched at Cotai outdoor venue

In a move to support community engagement and event planning, the Macau Outdoor Performance Venue in Cotai will feature a built-in stage and remain available at no cost to local organizations and businesses throughout its trial run.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced yesterday that the “Enjoy Stage,” a community-oriented performance platform, will be offered rent-free to all local parties during the trial operation of the outdoor performance venue, with the dual objectives of expanding the site’s functionality and enlivening the local cultural scene.
The bureau also reported that a pilot run had been completed, drawing representatives from the performing arts and business communities who unanimously praised the stage’s basic facilities after an on-site inspection.
As outlined in the IC’s statement, the facility boasts a comprehensive technical package comprising a substantial marquee, full audio and lighting installations, and a digital display panel, supplemented by the provision of two on-site lighting and sound coordination personnel for the duration of any activity.
Applicants are also permitted to enhance the existing setup with their own lighting and audio equipment, subject to site conditions. The bureau emphasized that the stage is designed for smaller-scale community concerts, district-level cultural programs, and dance showcases, with a designated seating capacity of 400 people, or up to 600 standing spectators when seating is removed.
The bureau added that all applications must be submitted no later than 10 working days before the performance date.
