Front desk manager arrested for theft of MOP370,000

A 29-year-old hotel front desk manager in Cotai has been referred to the authorities for allegedly stealing nearly MOP370,000. Police received a report last Thursday (Nov. 13) of suspected employee theft from the hotel’s front desk operations. Investigations revealed that between late September and Nov. 6, the suspect used his own and colleagues’ work passes to access 12 safes, taking cash to gamble before leaving Macau. The man, employed at the hotel for five years, was intercepted at the airport on Nov. 15 and admitted to losing all the stolen money due to a gambling addiction.
