Hong Kong actor sued for HKD1.4 million over alleged unpaid casino loan

Jacky Heung

Hong Kong actor Jacky Heung is facing legal action from MGM China Holdings after allegedly defaulting on a substantial casino loan at its Macau property.

MGM China Holdings filed the lawsuit in the Hong Kong District Court seeking repayment of HKD1.4 million.

Heung reportedly borrowed HKD2 million on December 1, 2024, exchanging the amount for gaming chips with an agreement that he would repay the loan in full on the same day, according to Hong Kong media.

MGM China claims that despite partial repayments, the balance remains largely unpaid. After accounting for partial repayments, Heung still owes HKD 1.4 million.

The plaintiff seeks repayment of the outstanding principal, along with interest calculated at an annual rate of 18%, starting from the date the loan was issued until full settlement.

Jacky Heung is a well-known actor and martial arts enthusiast with more than 30 years in show business.

Heung is also the eldest son of Charles Heung, chairman of Hong Kong-listed China Star Entertainment, a major film production company and property investment firm. NS
