IKEA store to hold soft opening Thursday
Swedish furniture brand IKEA will hold the soft opening for its first Macau store on Thursday.
Located in the shopping mall of the Nova Grande residence, next to the Central Park in Taipa, the 8,000-square-meter shop is the first full store in the Macau SAR. It will include an IKEA Café and a Swedish Food Market, and will offer as many as 600 parking spaces for customers.
Pictures circulated on social media on Saturday after the company held a “test and family day” ahead of Thursday’s soft launch.
Earlier, the store had been scheduled to open in the first quarter of this year.
The local IKEA franchisee already operates a ‘pick-up store’ from the Macau Tower, where customers can collect purchases made on the company’s website. DB
