International payments made easier for overseas visitors

Shenzhen has expanded payment services for international visitors by increasing acceptance of overseas bank cards, improving foreign currency exchange facilities and providing multilingual support across transport hubs and commercial districts. According to China Daily, the measures are intended to make travel and business more convenient ahead of a busy international events calendar. Authorities said the initiative forms part of broader national efforts to improve the payment environment for foreign visitors while reinforcing Shenzhen’s role as an international business and innovation centre. Retailers, hotels and tourist attractions have also upgraded payment systems to accommodate overseas travellers, supporting tourism growth and cross-border business within the Greater Bay Area.
