Lowest temperature of this winter recorded

A temperature of 7.9 degrees Celsius was recorded yesterday morning at 8 a.m. in Macau, according to the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG).
This marks the lowest temperature registered this winter. According to the SMG, the low temperatures are a result of an intense cold surge due to the winter’s monsoons.
This winter’s monsoons will bring cold and dry weather to southern China in the next couple of days, although it will be generally fine over the city. Temperatures in the morning and at night will remain relatively cold.
The temperature will rise in the next couple of days. the SMG urges the public to pay attention to weather changes and to keep warm.
At the SMG observatory on Sunday, the mercury dropped to 11.2 degrees, the lowest recorded to date.
Winter between December and February normally has an average temperature ranging between 15.4 degrees to 16.3 degrees. Last November 29, the SMG released a statement saying that normal to above-normal temperature in Macau is expected for this winter.
The annual mean temperature of 2019 was 23.6 degrees, 1 degree higher than the normal between 1981 and 2010, making it the warmest year on record since 1952.
There are multiple new temperature records. The previous average temperature was recorded in 2015 (23.2 degrees), and it was 23.6 degrees in 2019. The previous highest average temperature was recorded in 1959 (26.6 degrees) until it was broken in 2019, with an average of 26.8 degrees. In 2015, the SMG recorded the lowest average temperature on record which was 21.1 degrees, 0.2 degrees lower than that of 2019. JZ
