Macau added two silver medals to its Asian Games tally Monday, with Sou Cho Man finishing runner-up in women’s changquan and Fong Man Hou taking silver in men’s individual kata.
Sou scored 9.710 points in the women’s changquan final at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall, finishing just 0.003 points behind Hong Kong’s Lydia Sham, who won gold with 9.713. Indonesia’s Eugenia Diva Widodo took bronze with 9.706.
Macau’s Wong Weng Ian finished seventh with 9.690 points, according to the competition results provided by the Macau delegation.
Later Monday, Fong took silver in the men’s individual kata, losing 5-0 to Japan’s Kakeru Nishiyama in the final. Nishiyama advanced to the final after defeating Kuwait’s Parpoulen 4-1 in the semifinals.
The two medals bring Macau’s medal haul at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to one gold and three silver medals. Macau’s first gold came Sunday, when Kuong Chi Hin won the men’s changquan, while teammate Song Chi Kuan took silver in the same event.
The results continue a strong start for Macau’s delegation, with the wushu team accounting for three of the territory’s four medals so far. The Asian Games run through Oct. 4 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
