Zone A parking spaces to open from late September

Motorists are set to benefit from 2,632 parking spaces across three New Urban Zone A economic housing estates under a phased rollout from late this month, alongside an additional 93 motorcycle spaces upon the Transport Bureau’s (DSAT) conversion of the parking area beside Avenida Marginal do Patane into a public car park in late October.

The car parks at Tong Man, Tong Keong, and Tong Ip Buildings will offer half-hourly rates – MOP3 during the day and MOP1.5 at night for light vehicles, and MOP1 during the day and MOP0.5 at night for motorcycles. According to the bureau, the Tong Man and Tong Ip car parks will come into operation progressively in late September, while the Tong Keong car park is expected to open in mid-October.

The three buildings form part of the 2021 economic housing application round, with flat selection having begun earlier this month. A Chief Executive’s order has approved the car park regulations for the three buildings, effective the day after publication. Tong Man Building will provide 708 spaces, comprising 366 car and 342 motorcycle bays; Tong Keong Building will offer 1,006 spaces, including 494 car and 512 motorcycle bays; and Tong Ip Building will have 918 spaces, split between 458 car and 460 motorcycle bays.

Separately, the bureau will reconfigure the motorcycle parking area beside Avenida Marginal do Patane into a public car park offering 93 motorcycle spaces, expected to open late next month. The car park entrance will be located on Avenida Marginal do Patane, with charges set at MOP 1 per half hour during the day and MOP0.5 at night, and the first 15 minutes free of charge.
