Macau braces for extreme heat, possible storm this weekend

The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has warned that Macau may experience both extreme heat and severe weather over the coming weekend, with temperatures in urban areas potentially exceeding 33 degrees Celsius, prompting a possible yellow heat warning. At the same time, a low-pressure system east of the Philippines is likely to develop into a tropical cyclone, moving toward the northern South China Sea and bringing stronger winds, frequent downpours, and thunderstorms. The bureau cautioned that the storm’s trajectory remains uncertain, and a closer approach to the Guangdong coast could result in significant weather disruptions for Macau.
