Macau educator makes history at Mansion House in London

Dr. Billy Chan, a Macau-based educator and philanthropist, made history recently as the first Chinese Australian to deliver an address at the iconic Egyptian Hall of Mansion House in London.
Speaking in his capacity as United Nations Ambassador for the Global Fair Pay Charter, Dr. Chan emphasized equity and justice in global labor practices.
The landmark event was attended by a host of international dignitaries, including the Mayor of London, the Right Honourable Sadiq Khan, the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Nus Ghani, UNITAR director Alex Mejia, and the founder of the Fair Pay Charter, Sir Sheikh Aliur Rahman OBE. Also in attendance was Sir Charles Bowman, the 690th Lord Mayor of the City of London.
Dr. Chan currently serves as chair of Australia Chamber of Commerce of Macau, director of the Centre for Medical Education in Simulation at the Macau University of Science and Technology, and chairman of the Sino-Phil Asia International Peace Awards Foundation.
His participation in this gathering underscores the city’s growing presence on the global stage and its contribution to international humanitarian and educational efforts. Staff Reporter
