This year’s Macau-Hengqin Art Fair drew more than 46,000 visitors over four days, organizers said, as the event wrapped up on Sunday at the Hengqin Culture and Art Complex. The fair featured an immersive blend of culture, crafts, and cuisine, reinforcing creative links between the neighboring regions.
A cultural and creative market anchored the fair, showcasing over 150 original designers, toy intellectual properties, and artisans from 34 cities and regions, including Macau, Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
Throughout the event, 20 artistic performances were staged, ranging from bossa nova to Portuguese music and energetic dance routines. Organizers also noted that 30 food stalls served regional flavors and local specialties, adding to the festive atmosphere.
To captivate sports fans, basketball enthusiasts flocked to the FIBA 3×3 Hengqin Challenge-themed space, while Macau’s “Coco King” original IP exhibition highlighted local design talent. Eight hands-on craft workshops invited attendees to create fruit shell bells and paint Portuguese-style tiles, allowing visitors to “experience the beauty of traditional crafts through hands-on creation.” Four nights of live music and an interactive games area provided further entertainment for families and young people.
Organizers also highlighted two plays presented by teams from the Wuzhen Theatre Festival, which received laughter and applause for their “warm and natural performances and clever interactions.” NS
