Macau launches first International Yoga Asana Championship
Macau is set to host its inaugural International Yoga Asana Championship, launching a two-day event that brings together over 100 yoga practitioners from 12 countries and regions.
The competition will take place at Galaxy Macau’s Oasis venue from January 14 to 15, running daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering a mix of competitive, cultural, and spectator experiences.
The championship aims to promote yoga’s global philosophy while providing a professional and inclusive platform for international athletes.
Participants will compete across traditional, artistic, and rhythmic categories in various age groups.
The judging panel comprises internationally certified yoga experts and senior practitioners from Thailand, India, China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
“The championship features four categories – traditional, artistic individual/pair, and rhythmic pair – with six age groups for men and women (ages 8 to 49+), and the oldest participant is around 70,” the statement from the Macau Yoga Professional Association read.
