Man caught stealing HKD237,000 in casino chips

A 20-year-old mainland Chinese man was caught stealing HKD237,000 in chips from a female gambler at a Cotai casino, authorities said. The woman left her chips on a table while watching another game and found them missing upon returning. Security intercepted the suspect as he tried to leave. Investigators revealed he had overstayed his visa by three days. All stolen chips were recovered from a casino planter where he had discarded them during his attempted escape.
