MGTO calls for troupes for Lunar New Year parade 

The government is calling registered artistic troupes, schools, community organizations and institutions in Macau to join the Parade for Celebration of the Chinese New Year 2023. Applications are open from today until November 17. The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) plans to stage the mega event “Parade for Celebration of the Chinese New Year 2023” on January 24 and 28, 2023. The event will feature a range of spectacular highlights such as the float parade, cultural and artistic performances as well as a float exhibition. The parade will start on Sai Van Lake Square, march along Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen until the destination at Macao Science Center.

Foreign exchange reserves at MOP210b

The preliminary estimate of the city’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP210.4 billion at the end of September 2022, according to data from the Monetary Authority of Macao. The reserves decreased 1.2% from the revised value of MOP212.9 billion for the previous month. The SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-September 2022 represented 10 times the currency in circulation or 83.4% of pataca M2 at end-August 2022. The trade-weighted effective exchange rate index for the pataca rose 2.61 points month-to-month and 9.73 points year-on-year to 112.9 last month.
