MICE industry members attend Kuala Lumpur event

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), along with representatives of the region’s exhibition and convention industry, recently participated in the Union of International Fairs (UFI) held at the 2018 UFI Asia Pacific Conference in Kuala Lumpur.

The aim of the Macau delegation was jointly to promote the advantages of exhibitions in the region, as well as to strengthen the exchange and co-operation between Macau and overseas MICE industries.

Held on March 1 and 2 with its theme, “New Methods, New Perspectives,” the representatives from the local MICE industry networked with nearly 300 influential UFI members from Asia and elites in the international exhibition industry, IPIM noted in a statement.

The delegation also introduced the advantages of Macau’s MICE software and hardware facilities and the “One-stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support provided by IPIM.

According to the participants, the connections made at the event will reinforce the exchange and co-operation among Asia-Pacific elites of the international exhibition industry.

Association members had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the planning, execution and management of conferences and exhibitions, specifically in regard to exhibitor recruitment, command of information technology and management of visitor flow.

Held annually in different Asian countries, the UFI Asia Pacific Conference seeks to encourage the Asian exhibition sector to keep up with the latest trends in the regional and international exhibition communities.

It also aims to exchange ideas with institutions dedicated to international exhibitions while promoting the image of the exhibition industry and increasing opportunities for commercial interaction.
