Money supply, resident deposits decline in June

Macau’s broad money supply fell 1.7% in June from the previous month to MOP847.6 billion, while resident deposits dropped 1.7% to MOP825.3 billion, according to data released yesterday by the Monetary Authority of Macao. Domestic private-sector loans also declined 0.7% to MOP476.5 billion, contributing to a 0.1% decrease in total banking loans to MOP1.04 trillion. However, non-resident deposits rose 11.6% and external loans increased 0.4% during the month.
