Due to the recent yellow alert for high temperatures issued by the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG), the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) has opened the Summer Shelter Center. Located at Rua Leste da Ilha Verde, the shelter will remain open until temperatures drop and the yellow warning from SMG is lifted. Additionally, the IAS urged the public to be aware of the physical condition of the elderly, particularly those living alone, those who are chronically ill, and frail citizens, and to take preventive measures against the heat.
