TUI Judge Azedo to retire next week

Court of Final Appeal (TUI) Judge José Maria Dias Azedo is to retire from his duties effective Aug. 18, the day on which he reaches the mandatory retirement age. The information comes from a publication in the government’s official gazette, in which the judge, who has more than 36 years of service, is praised for his contributions. Azedo began his judicial career in 1997 and arrived at the TUI in 2019 after serving in the lower courts. TUI president Judge Song Man Lei noted in the publication that Azedo not only strove to “maintain the normal functioning of the judicial bodies,” but also contributed significantly to the stable transition of the judiciary.
